ACCA ASIA ERM Webcast on “Creating Value Through Effective Enterprise Risk Management”, presented in cooperation with SOA, 10 December 2015

This webcast will provide a discussion of an area of emerging practice to inform actuaries and other interested parties about Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) development, trends and issues, particularly in the Asia region. In a globalised framework of businesses operating within Asia, the risk management issues that emerge in continuum are not necessarily unique to Asia, but do have flavours that require understanding for effective management. This webcast, therefore, discusses certain subjects that are dominating currently in the Asia region and are recommended to all parties involve in ERM, whether Actuaries or other professionals.

Registration opens for Certified Actuarial Analyst Programme



Students intending to take the new Certified Actuarial Analyst (CAA) qualification this year can register online with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) from today.

Institute of faculties of Actuaries (IFoA),UK introduced a new course Certified Actuarial Analyst (CAA)  for the  beginners   of Actuarial activities. After completion of this course one can join the main stream of Actuarial studies for Associateship  and Fellowship program   At present many countries are facing deficiency of actuary  that causing hamper insurance business and financial risk management to run  up to the global norm. To meet up the deficiency of actuary  IFoA comes  forward   with this course.

Together with Pearson VUE, a computer-based testing firm, the IFoA has developed and launched the internationally recognized CAA qualification and membership category. Registration, which is open to students around the world, will close on July 18.
The CAA syllabus consists of six modules, takes between two and three years to complete and is intended to professionalize the growing number of technical and analytical roles in companies. The IFoA said that the qualification caters for school leavers, degree level candidates and people currently working at an actuarial firm.

The IFoA has created challenging technical and theoretical questions, covering computational and practical aspects of the job. Candidates will be able to take the Module 0 entry test at Pearson VUE's network of over 5,000 test centers in 178 countries.  

IFoA chief executive Derek Cribb said: ‘This is a momentous day for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and the actuarial profession as a whole.
‘The CAA will represent high academic standards, with continuous professional development requirements and a robust regulatory approach for employers, regulators and the public alike.
‘There is a strong demand for the CAA in the financial sector and we worked closely with employers in developing the new professional standard to meet their need for professional technicians and analysts.’
